Ten brewers from five Brazilian states and an exaggerated urge to brew without a recipe book. Since 2022 in our own brewery in Restinga Sêca, in the heart of Rio Grande do Sul.
A collective that chose a town
Surto started as Chaos Brew Co., a group of ten homebrewers spread across five states. We brewed as a gypsy brewery in Santa Catarina, won our first medals and, at the end of 2019, became Surto Coletivo Cervejeiro. “Surto” is Portuguese for a fit of madness.
When bars closed during the pandemic, Restinga Sêca kept ordering our beer. The town already treated us as its local brewery, so this is where we built our own.

Surto at the Termas
Brazil's best happy hour is in Restinga Sêca.
Inside the Termas Romanas thermal resort, in Recanto Maestro, Surto runs two bars. This is where you sit down for a draft.
In high season and on event days we also open on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Surto Wheels
Our draft-beer tank on a trailer, the first of its kind in Brazil. It arrives at your event with 1,200 litres and pours straight from the tank, cold from the first glass to the last.

Guided tour
About 40 minutes inside the brewery: ingredients to touch and smell, mashing, fermentation and packaging, ending with a tasting that compares the pilsner with another style. For groups and travel agencies.

Where every batch is born
Eleven tanks and 18,500 litres in Restinga Sêca. Everything Surto makes is brewed here, batch by batch, with a production sheet and control of every tank.
