A bunch of homebrewers, two borrowed breweries, a pandemic and a town that adopted us.

That was the motto printed on every Chaos Brew label: excess, sparing nothing to recreate the madness of the brew pot; confusion, huge doses of innovation without letting go of tradition; chaos, anarchic ideas that become limitless concepts.

2017
Ten brewers, five states
A group of homebrewers from five Brazilian states decides a hobby isn't enough. Chaos Brew Co. is born, with the golden triquetra that is still our symbol today.

2018
First home: Locomotive, Rio Negrinho
With no brewery of our own, we brew as a gypsy brewery at Locomotive, in Rio Negrinho (Santa Catarina). Let's put a smile on your face is our first beer, and in November it brings our first medal: silver at the Copa da Cerveja Poa. Chaos tours festivals from Curitiba to Florianópolis in a wrapped VW Kombi.

2019
Second home: Big Jack, Orleans
Production moves to Big Jack, in Orleans (Santa Catarina), where we started together and which is now two-time Best Brewery in Brazil at the Brazilian Beer Competition. Loop wins bronze in Blumenau, the pilsner wins silver at the South American Cup and Biôrn Øl, brewed with Big Jack, wins silver in Chile.

Wouldn't you go mad?
“Ten brewers from five Brazilian states.” Chaos Brew Co. becomes Surto Coletivo Cervejeiro. The first cans arrive in February 2020.

2020
The pause, and the town that kept going
We came back from the Brazilian Beer Festival in Blumenau and the pandemic hit. Bars closed and stock expired on the shelves. In Restinga Sêca, one of the ten kept selling Surto, and the town kept ordering. In November, Interludium and Furdunço mark our return: “moments of silence mark new beginnings”.

2022
A home of our own in Restinga Sêca
When it was time to choose where to build the brewery, the choice was easy: the town that already treated us as locals, where Termas Romanas was being built. The work finishes mid-year, and the pilsner becomes RSRS.

2023
The brewery becomes a meeting point
The first Surto Feijoada, the Balada Surtaneja, the Restinga Christmas charity party. The brewery hall starts hosting the town's celebrations.

2024
Termas Romanas
Surto opens its two bars inside the Termas Romanas resort. The same year: gold at the Brasil Beer Cup, silver at the South American Cup and Best of Show for the Centre-North Region at the Gaúcha Cup.

2025
Visitors from afar
Groups from Uruguay and Paraguay visit the brewery, which joins Restinga Sêca's Nos Trilhos do Tempo tourist route. Black Loop wins gold at SuperBOS.

2026
Quarta Colônia Geoproduct
RSRS is recognised as an official Geoproduct of the Quarta Colônia Geopark, recognised by UNESCO.
And we keep brewing the way we started: as a collective.
